Traveling, in general, can be stressful. Traveling over the holidays can be a ridiculous mess. Traveling with kids? Forget about it. I was nervous about how we'd fit everything we needed for two weeks in just a couple suitcases. We tend to be pretty minimal when traveling, but Julia's stuff took up an entire suitcase! Still, there was one thing that didn't fit, no matter how I tried to squish them in: her diapers. Poop. (Literally.)
I was stressing out over how I'd fit enough diapers in our suitcases to last two weeks when a light bulb suddenly went off: Um...I don't live in Italy anymore; I can go out at 2 am if need be, and buy some diapers, because stores, like CVS, are open 24 hours a day, YAY! And just like that, I realized my problem was actually a solution.
I only packed enough diapers in my purse/diaper bag to get her through the plane ride and that night (we use Pampers BabyDry that offers 12+ hours of protection, so I knew she'd be good until the morning). Then, our very first stop that next morning was to the CVS, conveniently on our route for the day, to pick up a pack of diapers and wipes.
|Y'all, Julia was beyond excited to go shopping that morning. She started doing this absolutely adorable scrunchy-nose, squinty-eye smile that morning. It melts my heart.|
I'm pretty sure I'm going to do this—only take the bare minimum amount of diapers that we need and buy more when we get to our destination—every time I fly somewhere. It saves space and makes everything less stressful since it's one less thing to worry about. Fuss free is the way to be!
By the way, happy Christmas Adam! (Get it? Because Adam came before Eve, and tomorrow is Christmas Eve.) To celebrate the holiday, and to give your new year a fuss-free start, Julia is giving away stuff! One winner will win coupons for one free pack of Pampers diapers (up to $13.99) and one free pack of Pampers wipes (up to $3.99)—SCORE!
